My new Sky+ was installed today, wahoo. Now I have just one sleek box instead of 2 ugly ones, and my wife will even be able to use it.

TiVO was unbelievably user un-friendly, if there was ever an award for a consumer device to be given a wooden spoon, it would be the fiasco that is TiVO.

I will post more on Sky+ once I have used it, but the first comment is Pause is a bit rubbish … TiVO was better on this front. Why, once I have caught up with live TV, do I have to press a button to exit the “Pause Mode” and waste a second whilst the picture appears … it could and can be quite seamless like TiVO, but no.

Well, after another marathon labour, my wife has given birth to a beautiful baby boy of 7lbs 9ozs.

Lovely litl’ fella’ he is, and he’s got really long fingers, so maybe he has the Petitt tall gene, of which sadly I do not!
